Photography has been a long standing passion for me. Over the last few years I have had the chance to improve my skills and understanding through the help of several outstanding photographers and instructors from a wide range of backgrounds. These generous and dedicated people have taught me an even greater appreciation for the world as seen through the viewfinder and I have learned to seek and love the tales, both simple and complex, that a still image can tell. Being behind the camera allows me to observe and be part of the world in a very personal and profound way that I have not experienced in any other aspect of daily life. It is simultaneously intrusion and escape, and the choices I make shape not only the photographic outcome but my personal journey along the way.
My professional background is in Information Technology. Currently I am a student of North Idaho College studying Photography and Graphic Design in an attempt to redirect my career towards something more artistic and personal. The amazing twists of fate that that took me from the world of technical problems and service calls to classrooms and the many open doors they provide have left me with a feeling of gratitude and the desire for more. I am very fortunate to have been given this opportunity and am working hard to make the most of it.
